On offer a complete breeding herd of outstanding ‘seed stock quality’ the best is in the Top 1% of the herd split over three lots and the U-Heifer portion over two lots. 99.92% + is as pure as a purebred can be (a result of the majority becoming PB's when an Island Wagyu bull was introduced to the herd 20-30years ago).
PTIC females comprising mixed-age cows & heifers in calf to bulls with some outstanding breeding, where even the backup bulls are in the top 1% of the breed. The mid-parent values in the attached catalogue speak words about this outstanding opportunity. The cull portion of the R Males, which were not retained as bulls, had an average marble score of 8.2MB.
The older cows represent what was formerly the Lock Rogers, Doorkey ‘Purebred’ Wagyu herd and the subsequent generations by the Bavea family ‘Woodland Wagyu’.
The pedigrees, EBV and Sires represent not only the historical cream of the Australian Wagyu crop but a philosophy of generational continuous improvement up to and including the upcoming 2024 calf crop.
The cattle are in good condition and present an even line of structurally sound females through strict selection pressure over the years.
They are reluctantly being offered only due to a need to reduce numbers to accommodate natural increase and the further development of the Woodland Wagyu Fullblood herd
